Woe to the inhabitants of the earth! There will be bloody wars and famines, plagues and infectious diseases. Our Lady of La Salette 19 Sept. 1846 (Published by Mélanie 1879)
“The earth will be struck by calamities of all kinds (in addition to plague and famine which will be wide-spread). Our Lady of La Salette 19 Sept. 1846 (Published by Mélanie 1879)
The protective gear was rushed to the isolation wards as soon as it arrived at Guinea’s main airport on Sunday: 1,500 sets of full-body protective suits including masks, gloves, goggles, aprons, boots and hats.
The emergency aid shipment was a frightening reminder of the deadly power of Ebola, one of the world’s most lethal infectious diseases, which has no known cure or vaccine. The latest epidemic, suspected of killing 80 people so far, has spread in an “unprecedented” manner to several towns and cities scattered across Guinea, the medical relief organization Médecins sans frontières (Doctors Without Borders) warned on Monday.Of the 122 suspected cases this year, 22 have now been confirmed by laboratory tests, according to Guinea’s health ministry. Nearly a dozen cases have been confirmed in the capital, Conakry, a coastal city of about two million people.
Confirmed cases have also been found in two southern towns in Guinea. Other suspected or confirmed cases have been reported in Liberia and Sierra Leone as the epidemic expands across the three impoverished West African countries.
“We are facing an epidemic of a magnitude never before seen in terms of the distribution of cases in the country,” said Mariano Lugli, co-ordinator of the MSF program in Conakry.
“The vast geographic spread of the Guinea outbreak is worrisome because it will greatly complicate the tasks of the organizations working to control the epidemic,” Mr. Lugli said in a statement on Monday.
The outbreak in Guinea is caused by the Zaire strain of the Ebola virus, which kills 90 per cent of those who catch it. “This is the most aggressive and deadly known form of the virus,” said MSF epidemiologist Michel Van Herp, who is currently in one of the southern regions in Guinea where the epidemic has struck.
The disease often causes severe external bleeding, vomiting and diarrhea, all of which can spread the virus. Health workers and family members are advised to wear protective clothing, since the disease is spread by contact with bodily fluids.

"I protest highly against a different text, which people may dare publish after my death. I protest once more against the very false statements of all those who dare say and write First that I embroidered the Secret; second, against those who state that the Queen Mother did not say to transmit the Secret to all her people."
