HOMILY OF HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS
Jesus replies to John: “let all righteousness be fulfilled” (cf. Mt 3:15). To baptize a child is an act of justice towards them. Why? Because at Baptism we offer a treasure, at Baptism we offer a pledge: the Holy Spirit. Baptism endows the child with the strength of the Holy Spirit: the Spirit that will defend and assist each of them throughout life. This is why it is so important to baptize them when they are little, so that they may grow with the strength of the Holy Spirit.
This is the message that I would like to give you today. You have brought your children today [so that they may receive] the Holy Spirit within them. And make sure that they develop in the light, with the strength of the Holy Spirit through catechesis, assistance, education and your example at home.... This is the message.
I do not want to say anything more important than this. Only some advice. Children are not accustomed to come to the Sistine chapel. It is their first time! They are not used to being closed in an environment that is also a bit stifling. And they are not used to being dressed like this, for a feast day as beautiful as today. They will feel a bit uncomfortable at times. And one will start [to cry]... — the concert has yet to begin! — but one will start then another ... Do not be alarmed: let your children cry and scream. Rather, if your child cries and complains, perhaps it is because it feels too hot: remove something; or because it is hungry: breastfeed him, here, yes, always comfortably. Something I also said last year: they have a “choral” dimension: it is enough for one of them to start to “sing” and everyone follows and there will be a concert. Do not be alarmed. It is a beautiful homily when a baby cries in church. It is a beautiful homily. Make sure that they are all right and let us move forward.

A record-breaking 105 US children have died from flu so far this season
It has been an "unusual" flu season with a higher proportion of children and young adults affected than the older population, according to Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious disease specialist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The earlier prevalence of influenza B -- a flu strain that tends to be more common in children -- could be a reason why more children were affected, Schaffner said. Also, as the number of influenza B cases decreased, the number of H1N1 cases increased, he said. H1N1 is a subtype of the influenza A strain, which also affects children more than adults.
"This is the first time in 25 years where [influenza B] became so common so early," said Dr. Buddy Creech, an associate professor of pediatric infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Neither Schaffner nor Creech know why this year's influenza timeline is so different.

British Funeral Director: Dead Babies Are Piling Up in Morgues
During an interview with Resistance GB, Wesley, who has been a funeral director for over three years, speaks about his experience throughout the so-called “pandemic” and what he’s been seeing in the morgues in recent times. He says he’s currently seeing untold numbers of dead babies and new-borns in cold storage and piling up in mortuaries waiting for their funerals.
The unprecedented numbers of babies that he and other morticians are dealing with are matched only by the excessive number of younger people in their 30s and 40s who have been dying since the Covid injection rolled out, he says.
When the pandemic first began the mortuaries saw a flurry of deaths which, in a few months, calmed down, even though media continued to hype Covid deaths. There was an uptick in suicides in the summer of 2020 in mostly younger men, but when autumn 2020 came, everything was rather quiet.
And then, he said, “Come January [2021] the numbers were going through the roof … and that’s since people were being vaccinated.” Now he’s having the most funerals he’s ever seen in a period of two weeks, and in younger people, he’s averaging about 12 “in one go,” when before the Covid injection he would see only “four or five funerals going, not 12, and not all in that age group.”
And now, he says, what he’s seeing is a lot of new-born babies … “really high, about 30” when he’s used to seeing only three or four. In other words, about 10 times the number of new born babies are dying than he normally would see — so many they’re having to keep them in the adult section, where there’s more room. “Obviously they’re either miscarried or full-term births, but not a lot is being said about it,” he says.
To put the causes of deaths in perspective, he says he’s only had one Covid death this year. All the rest are myocarditis, infarctions (heart attacks) and some pneumonia. He also notes that “anybody and everybody” who died when the pandemic started was marked as Covid on their death certificates, but that’s not happening since the Covid injection was introduced. Some of the universe's stars have gone missing. But where did they go?
Stars don't just vanish — or do they? For thousands of years, astronomers accepted the idea that the lights in the sky were fixed and unchanging. Even when it became clear that these lights were actually physical objects like the sun, one of the key assumptions for astrophysicists has been that they go through major changes very slowly, on timescales of millions or billions of years.
And when the most massive stars of all — which are many times heavier than the sun — do go through sudden and cataclysmic changes as they reach the ends of their lives, their passing is marked by the unmissable cosmic beacon of a supernova explosion, which shines for many months, and may even be visible across hundreds of millions of light-years.
But what if some stars suddenly just wink out of visibility? According to everything we know about stars, that should be impossible, but over the past few years, a group of astronomers has set out to see whether such impossible things do happen, comparing data across decades of observations.
"VASCO is the Vanishing and Appearing Sources during a Century of Observations project," said Beatriz Villarroel of the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics, Sweden. "We're actually interested in all kinds of vanishing objects, but ideally I'd like to find a star that's been steady and has been there in the sky for as long as we can remember and as long as we have data for, and one day it just vanishes. And you can point the biggest telescopes in the world at it and still see nothing there."
Since Villarroel and her colleagues began work on the project in 2017, they've attracted a lot of attention from scientists who see the potential in searching historic records: "We have astronomers from all kinds of different fields interested in the project — specialists in active galactic nuclei [the power source of intensely brilliant quasars in the distant universe], stellar physicists, and SETI [Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence] scientists — everyone has their reasons for getting involved."
Although our current understanding suggests that stars change only very slowly, and dramatic disappearances should leave traces behind, that's not to say that all stars shine steadily. In fact, the sky is packed full of variable stars that pulsate and change in brightness. Villarroel emphasizes that VASCO is about something different. "We know that there are variables, but their timescales tend to be a few years at most. We want to find something that goes from a completely steady star to just vanishing entirely — this hasn't been documented, and it's the kind of discovery that could lead to new physics." Source

Two UK Teenagers Die Suddenly From Covid Vaccine In One Week: Harry Towers and Mohammed Habib Attended St John Fisher Catholic College
To Clarify - Read First:
Children All children aged 12 to 15 will be offered a 1st dose of a COVID-19 vaccine (including children who turn 12 on the date of vaccination). Most children can get their vaccine at school or can book their COVID-19 vaccination appointment online.
UK School Ages:
14 to 15 Year 10
15 to 16 Year 11
The boys are not 10 and 11 but were in grade 10 and 11 therefore they were 14 to 16 years old.
In the UK the Vaccine is given to children starting at age 12.
School in mourning after two pupils die suddenly in one week
Harry Towers and Mohammed Habib passed away during October half-term and were both remembered in prayers during an online assembly on Tuesday. St John Fisher Catholic College in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, has ensured support is available for its grieving students and staff. Harry, who was in year 11, died on Saturday October 30, reports Stoke-on-Trent Live.
He was described as a popular teenager with "care and compassion".
Garrett Murray, acting headteacher at the school, said: "Harry approached life with a wonderful sense of humour and showed such care and compassion towards all those that he encountered. Harry was popular and loved by all his peers, teachers and pastoral staff. He will be deeply missed by all in our school community."
And Mohammed, a year 10 pupil, died on Sunday October 24.
Paying tribute, Mr Murray said: "Mohammed was devout in his faith. His charitable nature will be sorely missed by all in the community.
"In his quiet way, Habib always looked out for others in need and was ready to support and help them. He will be deeply missed by all in our school community."
The school, which caters for around 1,100 pupils, has offered both families its condolences.
"The school is deeply saddened to learn of the deaths of two of our learners Mohammed Habib and Harry Towers," Mr Murray continued.
"We are praying for them and their families and friends and keeping them in our thoughts at this very difficult time.
"I'm in contact with both families and have offered our deepest condolences and support.
"This will have a large impact on the whole school community and we are ensuring support is available in school for anyone who needs it." Source
